OVERVIEW
This garage-kept 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza convertible has been with the current owner for approximately 30 years. It is powered by a 164cid air-cooled flat six-cylinder engine mated to a two-speed automatic transaxle. Features include an AM radio, manual steering and brakes, simulated wire wheel hubcaps, and new Coker whitewall tires. Finished in Ruby Red acrylic lacquer and equipped with a white vinyl top over a white vinyl interior, this Corvair Monza comes from the selling dealer with an original owner’s manual, a car cover, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior is finished in Ruby Red acrylic lacquer. Features include chrome bumpers, wheel well and rocker trim, dual mirrors, a manual white convertible top, and a rear antenna. A video of the exterior can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of black 15-inch steel wheels with full simulated wire wheel hubcaps is wrapped in new 6.50-15 Coker 4-ply whitewall bias-ply tires that reportedly cost approximately $2,000.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in white vinyl. Features include manual windows and steering, a dashboard-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a white dashboard and top pad, and new black carpeting.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, engine temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 63,113 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 164cid air-cooled flat six-cylinder engine and backed by a two-speed automatic transaxle. The selling dealer states that the vehicle has been checked yearly and no service is needed at this time.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Corvair was factory-equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and a rear drive transaxle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums.
