Vehicle Story

This 1946 Cadillac Series 61 Fastback is one of 800 produced for the model year and powered by a fuel-injected 350ci V8 crate engine. It was professionally-restored by prior ownership and features an interior sourced from a 1990's era Cadillac, power steering & brakes, air conditioning, and an updated audio system.  The car is finished in black over a black leather interior and is equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission.  Located in Glendale, California, this Series 61 is now offered by the selling dealer on a clean Indiana title.

The car was professionally refinished in black from its original Richmond Gray and retains all the factory brightwork, including chrome bumpers, hood ornament, and side moldings.  A V8 emblem is present at the leading edge of the hood, and all trim is in good condition. The glass is in good condition, and the car has a split-design windshield.

Factory 14” steel wheels with full covers are mounted to near-new tires.  The car is equipped with power steering and power brakes.

The interior is fitted with black carpeting and power-adjustable black leather bucket seats with headrests, originally sourced from a 1990s Cadillac.  The dash is painted black with chrome accents, and features include a heater and air conditioning as well as an aftermarket AM/FM/CD head unit mounted at the center dash.  The trunk is carpeted and houses the spare tire along with the associated jack equipment.

Instrumentation is framed by a two-spoke 1990s-era Cadillac steering wheel and includes a 100-mph speedometer and an analog clock, along with accompanying gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage.  There are additional aftermarket gauges mounted below the dash.  The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 91k miles, though true mileage is unknown.

The factory 346ci V8 has been replaced with a Ramjet 350ci V8 crate engine with fuel injection and a performance air intake, installed 5k miles ago. An aluminum radiator was added in addition to full-length exhaust headers and dual exhaust. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission and a column-mounted shift lever.
