29-YEARS-OWNED 1976 CADILLAC ELDORADO CONVERTIBLE

OVERVIEW

This 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible has been with the same family for 29 years and has received more than $10,000 in cosmetic, ignition, suspension, braking, and steering updates. It is powered by an 8.2-liter V8 backed by an automatic transmission. Features include Hydro-Boost power disc brakes, power steering, power windows and locks, a power convertible top, power front seats, cruise control, a tilt and telescoping steering column, a power antenna, air conditioning, and color-keyed hubcaps. Finished in Firethorn Metallic and equipped with a white vinyl convertible top over a white leather interior, this Eldorado comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior is wearing the factory-applied finish of Firethorn Metallic (code 36). Features include chrome bumpers, chrome rocker moldings, dual mirrors, a newer power white vinyl convertible top, and a power antenna. The selling dealer states that a few minor scratches and spots of touch-up paint can be seen. Additionally, the convertible top has one small tear in it.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch wheels with color-keyed full hubcaps is wrapped in whitewall radial tires that were installed in 2020.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The power front seats and the rear seat are upholstered in white leather. Features include power windows and locks, power steering, a tilt and telescoping steering column, and a column-mounted automatic transmission shifter. The air conditioning system was rebuilt in 2015. Three years ago, the carpeting, floor mats, sill plates, weatherstripping, convertible well liner and drain trough, and convertible top latches were replaced. In addition, the steering wheel was refinished and a new Retrosound AM/FM/Bluetooth radio with new speakers was installed. Earlier this year, the driver’s seat motor, driver-side window motor, and convertible top relay were replaced.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 100-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 71,176 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by an 8.2-liter V8 and backed by an automatic transmission. New parts installed since 2015 include the distributor cap and rotor, ignition coil, spark plugs, spark plug wires, speedometer cable, power steering box, transaxle half-shafts, water pump, and radiator. Additionally, the carburetor and Hydro-Boost brake booster have been rebuilt and the fluids have been flushed and changed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Eldorado was factory-equipped with an independent front-wheel-drive suspension and a solid rear axle. Braking is provided by power discs. The exhaust system exits at the rear. In 2012, the steering stabilizer and ball joints were replaced. Three years later, a steering damper and rear air shocks were installed.
