Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This body-off-restored 1950 Ford F-1 pickup is powered by a 239cid flathead V8 equipped with Offenhauser heads and backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include bucket seats, a digital AM/FM radio, a 12-volt electrical system conversion, an accessory turn signal system, a locking fuel cap, a wood bed floor, front disc brakes, and power rack-and-pinion steering. Finished in red over a black vinyl interior, this Ford truck comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration, the all-steel body was finished in red. Features include chrome bumpers, chrome grille trim, a cowl-mounted antenna, dual mirrors, a locking fuel cap, and an oak wood bed floor.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of beige 15-inch steel wheels with chrome dog dish hubcaps and accessory trim rings is wrapped in P235/75R15 Cornell all-season radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin has been custom-fitted with dual bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual windows and steering, an accessory turn signal system, a digital AM/FM stereo, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, and a 12-volt electrical system conversion.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The set of Dolphin gauges located ahead of the driver includes a 140-mph speedometer and readouts for the fuel level, water temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The odometer reads 1,093 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 239cid flathead V8 equipped with Offenhauser heads and backed by a three-speed manual transmission. 

UNDERCARRIAGE

This F-1 is equipped with a solid I-beam front suspension, upgraded power rack-and-pinion steering, and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.

@Wolfeman – with the current gear configuration can the vehicle do freeway speeds ( 70 MPH) without over working the motor at to0 high of RPM ...

This vehicle can and will go freeway speeds. 70 MPH might be a stretch for most classics but certainly can keep up with current speed laws and the flow of traffic.
