1966 OLDSMOBILE TORONADO DELUXE

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado Deluxe is powered by a 425cid V8 mated to a three-speed automatic front-wheel-drive transaxle. Power features include the windows, front seat, steering, and brakes. Additional features include air conditioning, hideaway headlights, a telescoping steering column, and an AM radio. Finished in Forest Mist over a Parchment vinyl interior, this Toronado comes from the selling dealer with the Protect-O-Plate, vehicle history documentation, promotional materials, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior has an older refinish in the original color of Forest Mist (code J). Features include chrome bumpers, hideaway headlights, a fender-mounted antenna, dual rearview mirrors, and rocker and wheel opening moldings. The selling dealer states that slight rust is present on a passenger-side pillar and touch-up areas can be seen. 

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of silver 15-inch slotted steel wheels with bright center caps and trim rings is wrapped in whitewall tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The selling dealer states that all of the interior is original. The power Strato front bench seat, rear seat, rear trim, and door panels are upholstered in Parchment vinyl (code 054). Features include power windows and steering, a telescoping steering column with an automatic transmission shifter, cruise control, air conditioning, an Oldsmobile AM radio, a fold-down front armrest, assist handles on the door panels, and door handles for the rear passengers.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature,  and amperage are located ahead of the driver. An additional set of three aftermarket gauges is located under the dashboard. The odometer reads 7,854 miles, but the selling dealer believes that the true mileage is 107,854 miles.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original Toronado Rocket 425cid V8, which is mated to a three-speed automatic front-wheel-drive transaxle. When new, the engine produced 385 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. A safety inspection was recently completed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

 Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
