This 1954 Chevrolet Bel Air is a two-door sedan that was produced by General Motors of Canada and sold new in Toronto, Canada. Acquired by the seller about six years ago, the car retains its original engine and interior. Finished in Horizon Blue and India Ivory over a two-tone interior, the car is equipped with a Blue Flame 6 cylinder mated to a three-speed column shifted manual transmission. Features include a radio and heater. This Chevy Bel Air is now offered with boxes of spare parts and a clean Arkansas title.
Refinished in 1975, the car wears its original color Horizon Blue with a contrasting India White roof. The paint has been properly maintained since then and held up well per the seller, but a two-inch ding on a rear quarter panel is noted, and it has not broken the paint. The condition of the chrome bumpers and trim can be seen up close in the gallery below. Chrome side-view mirrors and fender skirts have not been mounted but are included in the sale.
Body-color painted steel wheels wear Chevrolet branded polished aluminum wheel covers wrapped in a set of whitewall tires, with drum brakes fitted at all four corners. The wheels, tires, and stainless covers were replaced in 2014, while the originals have been retained. The front suspension consists of upper and lower A-arms and coil springs, while the rear features a live axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs.
The seats and door panels are original, upholstered in blue patterned cloth trimmed with blue vinyl. Blue carpeting covers the floors, and equipment includes an AM radio, a chromed tissue dispenser mounted beneath the dash, and a heater. Controls consist of a stock blue steering wheel with a chrome horn ring and a column shifter. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 25,500 miles, 1,000 of which were added by the seller; true mileage is unknown.
A matching spare is located in the trunk, along with parts boxes containing window and door seals, the aforementioned chromed side mirrors, and a limited number of service records. The oil was changed about a year ago.
The 235ci Blue Flame straight-six equipped with a single carburetor was factory rated at 115hp when new and is paired with a column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission.
Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the gallery.
