350-POWERED 1951 CHEVROLET 3100 5-WINDOW PICKUP

OVERVIEW

This restored 1951 Chevrolet 3100 five-window pickup received several updates including new paint, new brakes, new fuel system components, a frame swap, a Flowmaster exhaust, and rear heavy-duty shocks. It is powered by a 350cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering and windows, a Vintage Air climate control system, a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo, a tilt steering column, and power front disc brakes. Finished in white over an orange and gold vinyl interior, this always-garaged Chevrolet 3100 comes from the selling dealer with a custom rack, documentation, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration a few years ago, the reportedly rust-free body was finished in white. Features include a chrome front bumper and grille, updated halogen tri-bar headlights, a fender-mounted antenna, a driver-side rearview mirror, tinted glass, a step-side pickup box with a black wood floor and bed stakes, and a rear roll pan with custom LED taillights. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch red steel wheels with chrome Chevrolet dog dish hubcaps and stainless steel trim rings is wrapped in 215/65R15 front and 225/70R15 rear radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cab is furnished with a tube-framed bench seat upholstered in orange and gold vinyl and surrounded by orange and black vinyl door panels and matte orange trim. Features include power windows, power steering, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a Vintage Air climate control system, and a Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and other vehicle systems are located ahead of the driver. The inoperative odometer reads 75,000 miles; the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 350cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, and a chrome air cleaner housing. A new battery was installed in 2022; a new water pump was installed and an oil change was performed in the last year. The selling dealer states that this pickup was always mechanically serviced and maintained during the six years it spent with its previous owner and that it can travel at 70 mph without a problem.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevrolet pickup has been modified to accept the chassis from a 1968-1972 GM A-body passenger car. The replacement frame has an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle mounted with a triangulated four-link setup and coil springs. A new gas tank, fuel filler neck, gas cap, fuel hoses, fuel level sender, and heavy-duty rear shocks were installed within the last year. Braking is provided by power front disc brakes and rear drums. A dual Flowmaster exhaust system exits at the rear.
