OVERVIEW
This 1996 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport is a magazine-featured performance coupe that was assembled as part of a limited-production run for the C4 Corvette’s final model year and has covered just 33,864 miles since new. Power is sourced from an upgraded LT4 5.7-liter V8 backed by a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. In addition to the factory-allocated equipment such as a fiberglass removable roof panel, automatic climate control, and power convenience options, this Corvette is set apart with a Borla dual exhaust system, K&N air filter, long-tube headers, a performance camshaft, and more. Finished in Admiral Blue Metallic with white and red accents over a two-tone Torch Red and black leather interior, this C4 Corvette is now offered with a window sticker, service records, additional documentation, a new Covercraft car cover, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
For the final year of the Corvette’s fourth generation, a limited production run of Grand Sport editions was assembled in Admiral Blue Metallic with white tip-to-tail accent striping and red hash marks on the driver-side fender. Equipment includes pop-up headlamps, halogen fog lamps, vented front fenders, a removable fiberglass roof panel, Grand Sport badging, and polished rectangular tips for the custom Borla dual-exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Black 17-inch wheels with polished lips are wrapped in 275/40 front and 315/35 rear Z-rated Nitto tires. All four tires were installed in early 2021.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-seat interior is furnished with power-operated Torch Red leather buckets, matching materials for the door panels, and contrasting black materials for the remainder of the cockpit. Amenities include embroidered floor mats with the Grand Sport logo, a center console, automatic climate control, a Delco/Bose AM/FM/CD/cassette head unit, cruise control, intermittent windshield wipers, a leather-wrapped sport steering wheel, and power windows.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a centralized digital speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the oil pressure, oil temperature, coolant temperature, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 33,864 miles, which is in line with the mileage on the CARFAX report.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 5.7-liter LT4 V8 was factory-rated at 330 horsepower when new and has been serviced recently per the maintenance history shown in the CARFAX report. Performance customization includes the installation of a K&N air filter, Vinci High Performance mass air flow sensor, BBK 52-mm throttle body, 160-degree thermostat, GM Performance camshaft with adjustable roller rockers, a computer-programmed tune, Exotic Muscle long tube headers, and an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator. Recent maintenance carried out includes an air conditioning system service and oil change in September 2023; a tune-up in 2021 that covered the replacement of the fuel pump, spark plugs, and an oxygen sensor; and a fuel injection system cleaning in 2020. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 4.10:1 ratio.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The window sticker shows that this Corvette came optioned with a $350 Performance Handling Package, leveraging an independent front suspension and a five-link rear end. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted disc brakes equipped with upgraded stainless steel lines.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This C4 Corvette was previously sold on AutoHunter in August 2022, but it is now being relisted by the current owner. It was reportedly featured in the November 2001 issue of Corvette Fever magazine. The CARFAX report shows this Corvette has an accident-free and damage-free history. The seller states that the car has always been stored in a temperature controlled garage. The sale includes service records, documentation, a new Covercraft car cover, and the original window sticker showing an MSRP of $44,569.

This has been a pretty good auction and it's coming to an end tomorrow. Just letting everyone know that this Grand Sport is number 967 out of 1000 built and the Torch Red interior is one of 217. Happy bidding in these final hours and it looks like someone will win this great Corvette.
