OVERVIEW
This 1967 Acadian Canso Sport Deluxe is a Canadian-built coupe that has been upgraded with a 383cid stroker V8 backed by a BorgWarner four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes power steering and brakes, Edelbrock heads, Flowtech headers, a McLeod Racing clutch, MSD ignition, and an aluminum radiator. Finished in red over a black and white vinyl interior, this Canso is now offered with build documentation and British Columbia, Canada registration in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free red exterior mirrors the body lines of the U.S.-market second-generation Chevrolet Chevy II Nova and features chrome brightwork, dual mirrors, rocker moldings, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome Cragar five-spoke 15-inch wheels are wrapped in mixed tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with black vinyl buckets with white accents up front, a bench in the rear, and matching trim for the door panels, padded dash, and carpeting. Features include a heater, rubber floor mats, a radio, power steering, and aluminum pedals.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and a fuel gauge. Auxiliary gauges mounted underneath the dash show the coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 29,000 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 383cid stroker V8 is housed in a satin black engine bay and comes upgraded with MSD ignition, an aluminum radiator, dish pistons, a small camshaft, Edelbrock heads, and Flowtech headers. Estimated output is over 320 horsepower per the seller. Maintenance completed within the last month includes an oil change and the replacement of the water pump gaskets. Power is sent to the back wheels via a floor-shifted BorgWarner Power Brute Super T-10 four-speed manual transmission and a 3.73:1 rear end that was built by I.W.E. Rear Ends Only. The clutch is a McLeod Racing 11-inch hydraulic unit
UNDERCARRIAGE
The front end is a complete Classic Performance Products (CPP) mini subframe kit with tubular upper and lower control arms.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
A binder of build documentation will accompany the car.
