This 1983 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler is a custom build that has completed the famed Rubicon Trail on two separate occasions and is highway capable. Power comes from a fuel-injected 4.2-liter inline-6 paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and 2-speed Dana 300 transfer case with ARB lockers. Upgrades and improvements added over the years include a spring-over lift, a new Mandrel bent exhaust system, disc brake conversion, power steering, custom cage, body armor, Warn winch, custom fuel tank, on-board air, new 35" Cooper Discoverer SST Pro tires on 15" American Racing wheels, and much more. This CJ is equipped with factory air conditioning and is offered with spare parts, tube doors, two tops, a roof rack, an extra set of wheels, and a clean California title in the seller's name.
The body is painted white and comes with the original fiberglass half-cab hardtop and a black Bestop soft top. Rock sliders from Four X Doctor in Burbank, California protect the sills, custom steel armor cloaks the rear corners, the front and rear are equipped with a Metal Cloak stubby bumper and a tube bumper, respectively, and the frame has been reinforced. The original bulkhead and spare tire mount will be included with the sale.
Additional exterior features include a Warn winch with remote control and new (less than 200 miles) 35"x12.5" Cooper Discover SST Pro tires on 15" American Racing AR 201 ATX wheels. The seller reports that the Jeep is set up for flat towing with an A-frame hitch and wired for a Brake Buddy braking system.
Occupant comfort comes from a 60/40 front bench on sliders and a Smittybilt tumble-&-fold rear bench, both in gray cloth and protection is provided by a custom full roll cage with integrated Rock Hard 4x4 Ultimate Sport cage. The Jeep also has a full carpet kit and an aftermarket steering wheel.
The CJ is equipped with factory air conditioning, switches for the ARB front and rear lockers, an onboard compressor with tank and air chuck, and a 12-volt plug. The six-digit odometer is claimed to be accurate by the seller and currently shows 126,469 miles.
Power is provided by a 258ci 4.2-liter inline-six with Mopar Performance electronic fuel injection, a BBK Performance Power Plus 62mm throttle body, and cold air intake. The motor is mated to an NV4500 5-speed manual gearbox and a 2-speed Dana 300 transfer case.
The CJ sits on a spring-over lift with YJ springs and Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks. A 1-ton high-steer kit manages to handle a Lee Power Steering gearbox, Borgeson steering shaft, and Currie Enterprises Antirock front sway bar. Dana 44 front and rear axles are equipped with ARB lockers. Additional upgrades include a disc brake conversion, a mandrel-bent exhaust system with a new catalytic converter and muffler, and a custom 25-gallon fuel tank.
Included with the Jeep are a stock fiberglass half-cab top, Safari roof rack, tube trail doors with a Bestop enclosure kit, five 15"x8" black steel wheels, and numerous spare parts.

Very nice build, seller! Much appreciation for it. Nice to see an older statesman be able to stand up to today's iterations.
