OVERVIEW
This front-wheel-drive 1972 Citroën DS21 Pallas has been with the seller since 2013 and has received exterior repairs and updates, a new interior, and new mechanical parts since then. It is powered by a 2,175cc four-cylinder backed by a Citromatic four-speed semi-automatic transmission. Features include powder-coated wheels, newer Michelin tires, power steering, a Clarion AM/FM radio, power front disc brakes, and a hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension. Finished in Orient Blue over a two-tone blue cloth interior, this garage-kept Citroen comes with repair and maintenance receipts and a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
In 2020, the body was sanded down to bare metal, treated with two coats of primer; two coats of the original color of Orient Blue (code AC616), and two layers of clearcoat. Additionally, it was rust-proofed, equipped with two new door skins, and given new trim. Features include chrome bumpers, U.S.-specification exterior lighting, dual mirrors, and roof-mounted rear turn signals. According to the seller, the front left corner of the roof leaks during heavy rainfall, but they do not drive this car in rain or snow.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of original 15-inch steel wheels have been straightened, powder-coated black, fitted with full hubcaps, and wrapped in 185HR15 Michelin XAS whitewall radial tires. According to the seller, the tires have accrued 4,000 miles since being installed in 2022.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin has been refurbished with new two-tone blue upholstery, blue cloth and white vinyl door panels and trim, and blue carpeting with a Dunlop underlay. Features include manual windows, power steering, a steering column-mounted transmission shifter, a leather-wrapped original steering wheel, and a Clarion AM/FM radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and engine temperature are located ahead of the driver. With 30,000 miles logged during the seller's 10-year ownership, the odometer reads 87,000 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 2,175cc four-cylinder backed by a Citromatic four-speed semi-automatic transmission. New parts installed at 57,000 miles include the clutch, fuel pump, starter, generator, and power steering pump as well as a re-cored radiator. At 80,000 miles, the battery and engine mounts were replaced. According to the seller, this vehicle has been maintained and annually serviced by Dave Burnham Citroën of Delanson, New York.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Citroen was factory-equipped with a front drive axle and a four-wheel hydropneumatic self-leveling suspension. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear. At 57,000 miles, the inboard front discs, rear brakes, and muffler were replaced. Additionally, the gas tank, steering rack, and main hydraulic pump were rebuilt. The heating ducts were reconstructed in November 2022. At 80,000 miles, four new suspension spheres were installed.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller will include all service records from their ownership as part of the sale.
