OVERVIEW
This restored 1969 Plymouth GTX hardtop is powered by a Super Commando 440cid V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission, both of which are reportedly numbers-matching. Features include Air Grabber induction, a new RetroSound AM/FM/satellite radio, bucket seats, a center console, and the Track Pak. Finished in Ice Blue Metallic with black stripes over a black vinyl interior, this GTX comes from the selling dealer with a repair guide, a Plymouth service manual, a RetroSound user manual, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration, the exterior was finished in the original color of Ice Blue Metallic (code B3). Features include chrome bumpers, chrome fender-mounted turn signal indicators, V21 Performance Hood Paint, hood-mounted N96 Air Grabber intakes, a driver-side mirror, black lower-body accents with red striping, and GTX emblems. The selling dealer states that rust is present on the passenger-side door and rocker, which can be seen in the carousel to the right. A walk-around video is available below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch chrome Magnum 500 wheels with chrome center caps and trim rings are wrapped in 215/70R14 Goodyear Assurance A/S whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with black vinyl front bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by black door panels with woodgrain inserts and black trim. Features include manual windows, manual steering, a center console (code C16), a Hurst manual shifter, and a RetroSound Redondo AM/FM/HD/satellite radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 150-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm factory tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and alternator are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 97,691 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a four-barrel Super Commando 440cid V8 and backed by a four-speed manual transmission (code D21), both of which are reportedly numbers-matching. When new, the engine produced 375 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. The dealer states that the N96 Air Grabber intake system was installed by the original selling dealer after initial delivery. The fluids were changed in 2023.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This GTX was factory-equipped with the Track Pak (code A33), which added a Dana 60 rear drive axle, a Sure-Grip differential with 3.54:1 gears, and more. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. The dual exhaust system exits at the rear. According to the selling dealer, the entire drivetrain is numbers-matching and original to the car.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The dealer will include a repair guide, a Plymouth service manual, and a RetroSound user manual as part of the sale.
