OVERVIEW
This 1979 Porsche 928 hatchback features fog lamps, a power sunroof, 16-inch alloy wheels, front and rear center consoles, power windows, and a Blaupunkt stereo. It is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transaxle equipped with a new clutch. Finished in black over a saddle leather interior, this 928 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The black exterior features pop-up headlights, fog lamps, a sunroof, and a rear window wiper. The dealer notes that the paint is thin and shows checking in certain areas.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Aluminum 16-inch wheels are wrapped in Federal Super Steel 595 tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The 2+2 interior is optioned with saddle perforated leather high-back bucket seats up front, dual seats in the rear, and matching trim for the door panels, dash, center consoles, and carpeting. Features include aluminum door sills, power windows, power steering, air conditioning, an analog clock, a Blaupunkt AM/FM/cassette radio, and a cargo net. A set of incomplete floor mats is installed; the driver mat is missing. The dash reportedly has some cracking.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The VDO-branded instrumentation includes a 170-mph speedometer, a 7,600-mph speedometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 130,228 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 4.5-liter V8 was rated at 219 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque when new. Recent maintenance includes the replacement of the clutch and the shifter bushings as well as a safety inspection. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted five-speed manual transaxle.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Braking comes from newly replaced four-wheel power disc brakes.

@vivajosue – Any service records? Timing belt? Do all the electronics work as they should? Please tell us what needs repair. ...
We have the owner's manual but no docs, before we got the car the previous owner had all 4 brakes gone through and rebuilt. The clutch was done as well as a tune-up. The car was sitting for a number of years before it recently got running. Runs and Drives has a high ideal that comes down after warm. It has a slight hesitation upon acceleration until warm. All lights work as they should. Headlights come up @ the same time. The sunroof works both power windows roll down. Heater controls move like they should i believe the blower motor/fan blower is inoperable. The original radio works.
BID: $8,000
Also, do you believe the car can safely be driven down to Los Angeles?
