OVERVIEW
This 1963 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe received a frame-off restoration in 2017 that included an engine rebuild and the installation of new upholstery. It is powered by the reportedly original 409cid V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include a RetroSound AM/FM stereo with hidden speakers and an amplifier as well as power brakes. Finished in Torch Red over a black vinyl and cloth interior, this Impala comes with recent service records and a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the 2017 restoration, the reportedly rust-free body was finished in Torch Red. Features include chrome bumpers, Impala side trim, a rear antenna, and rear body trim.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch five-spoke Cragar wheels is wrapped in F70-14 front and G70-14 rear Firestone redline bias-ply tires that were installed in 2017.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
In 2017, the cabin was furnished with new black vinyl and cloth upholstery for the seats and a new black headliner. Features include manual windows and steering, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, a RetroSound AM/FM stereo, hidden speakers, and a trunk-mounted amplifier.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A rebuilt 120-mph speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, an inoperative clock, and a fuel gauge are located ahead of the driver. Three aftermarket gauges are mounted under the dashboard. With 300 miles added during the seller's one-year ownership, the odometer reads 31,393 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The seller states that the original 400-horsepower 409cid V8 was rebuilt less than 1,100 miles ago during the frame-off restoration. That is backed by a four-speed manual transmission with a heavy-duty clutch that was installed at the same time. Newer engine bay parts include the chrome valve covers, water pump, and radiator. Earlier this year, an oil change, a valve adjustment, and a tune-up were completed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Impala is equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle with a 4.11:1 gear ratio. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. The newer 2.5-inch stainless steel dual exhaust system flows from the reportedly original ram's horn-style exhaust manifolds out to the rear. In August 2022, a new fuel pump, fuel lines, and fuel tank were installed.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller will include recent service records as part of the sale.

Do you have information and receipts on the engine rebuild?
During the restoration was all the paint removed from this? Was it dipped or sandblasted?
No vintage air? Surprised being in PHX AZ.
The 409 was introduced in mid 1961 according to GM. She's real fine my 409 was a top hit for the beach boys in 1962.

@DWN – You should double check your information. I don't think the 63SS came with a 409. 327 was the biggest offered in 63. ...
