440-POWERED 1966 PLYMOUTH SATELLITE

OVERVIEW

This restored 1966 Plymouth Satellite received new paint and upgrades that include a JVC AM/FM stereo and a dual exhaust system. It is powered by a 440cid big-block V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a hood scoop, bucket seats, a factory center console with a tachometer, and an aluminum radiator. Finished in Dark Orange Metallic over a black vinyl interior, this Plymouth comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly rust-free body has been professionally refinished in Dark Orange Metallic. Features include chrome bumpers, a body-color hood scoop, rocker and wheel opening moldings, a manual remote driver-side rearview mirror, and dual side-exit exhaust outlets. The selling dealer states that some minor touch-up spots are present and the glass is free of cracks and stars.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of chrome five-spoke Cragar S/S wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich and Cooper Cobra radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with front bucket seats and a matching rear seat upholstered in black vinyl and surrounded by black vinyl door panels and trim.  Features include manual windows, manual steering, a center console-mounted automatic transmission shifter, an AM radio, and a glove box-mounted JVC AM/FM stereo. The selling dealer states that all electrical components are in working order.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and alternator are located ahead of the driver. A factory 6,000-rpm tachometer is mounted on the center console. The odometer reads 9,643 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The original 318cid V8 has been replaced with a 440cid big-block V8, which is backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include finned black cast aluminum valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor, and a chrome air cleaner housing with a K&N air filter. A safety inspection was recently completed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Plymouth was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums.
