OVERVIEW
This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible is presented by the selling dealer as a Mustang GT powered by a K-code High-Performance 289cid V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Features include styled steel wheels, a dual exhaust system, fog lamps, and front disc brakes. Finished in white and equipped with a white retractable top over a red Pony vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with owner’s booklets and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was changed from Vintage Burgundy (code X) to white under prior ownership and is said to be in good condition per the dealer. Features include fog lamps, 289 fender badging, red GT-branded rocker panel decals, a driver-side mirror, an antenna, and a dual-trumpet exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Styled steel 14-inch wheels are wrapped in redline bias-ply tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin was originally configured with black vinyl upholstery (code 66), but it now has a red Pony vinyl interior with low-back bucket seats and a bench in the rear, matched to the door panels, dash, and carpeting. Features include a woodgrain steering wheel, a wooden shift knob, manual-crank windows, and a vinyl trunk mat. The dealer notes that the radio is not working.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 81,450 miles, although the selling dealer states that the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly original K-code High-Performance 289cid V8 is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Output was 271 horsepower when new. A safety inspection has been completed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping is performed by front discs and rear drums.
