OVERVIEW
This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach 1 receives power from a rebuilt Cleveland 351cid V8 mated to a SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission and an Eaton limited-slip differential. A mechanically original car. Numbers matching engine, transmission and differential. It was originally delivered to Amherst Motors in Amherst, Virginia, and is equipped with front and rear spoilers, Magnum 500-style wheels, power steering, air conditioning, a Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system, and new power front disc brakes. Finished in Medium Blue Metallic over a beige vinyl interior, this Mustang is now offered with receipts, an Elite Marti Report, and a clear title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During a 2020 exterior restoration, the car received a new trunk lid and a replacement driver floor pan. In addition, the body color was changed from the original Medium Lime Metallic to Medium Blue Metallic. Features include a chin spoiler, chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, color-keyed mirror caps, Mach 1-branded rocker trim, rear window louvers, and a spoiler. According to the seller, the driver-side mirror's adjustment pin has broken off.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Magnum 500-style 15-inch wheels are wrapped in 235/60 front and 255/60 rear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with beige vinyl upholstery for the front buckets and the rear seats as well as contrasting black materials for the dash, center console, and carpeting. Features include manual-crank windows, woodgrain trim, aftermarket air conditioning, and a new retro-look AM/FM radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a dash-mounted clock, and gauges for the alternator, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 63,656 miles, which the seller reports as accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The Cleveland 351cid 2V V8 has been rebuilt and features FPT headers as well as a new Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a SelectShift Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. According to the seller, the engine, transmission, and differential are numbers-matching, although the rear end has been updated with an Eaton Detroit Truetrac limited-slip differential with 3.70:1 gearing. The air conditioning system was serviced within the last month and the starter, alternator, and the original power steering pump have been rebuilt.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping is performed by new power front disc brakes and rear drums.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The car will come with receipts and an Elite Marti Report. The seller has provided a video with a driving demonstration.
I'll be here to answer any last minute questions. Another note: everything is functional with the dash gauges and knobs. Even the washer shoots water.

@keithsautosales – Have the quarter panels been replaced, none of your pictures show the inside seams.? ...
I responded to this yesterday but apparently it never loaded. No the panels were not replaced. I added some photos post media blast to show the condition of the body. The trunk lid had pinhole rust and was the only one replaced.

@keithsautosales – How long has the present owner owned this car, did you have the work done on it? ...
Hello, I purchased it in 2019 from a guy in San Diego. Yes, I had all the work done. I did some of the disassembly and reassembly but most was sent out to pros for completion: engine, trans, diff, bodywork/paint, interior. I took photos of the whole process.

This is not a “shaker” ram air car. There is not a shaker scoop on it. It has an added fixed hood scoop that is nonfunctional. The new color is definitely an improvement over metallic lime paint and ivy interior!
