This recently restored 1966 GTO was the recipient of a recent cosmetic restoration and is powered by a 389ci V8 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes the F41 suspension package, power steering, Cragar SS wheels, and more. This GTO was professionally repainted in its original color of Montero Red over a matching red interior and is offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
The car has been refinished in its factory color, Montero Red (Paint Code: R-2), and features recently triple-plated chromed and front and rear bumpers as well as new emblems. The seller notes that the body retains all the original sheet metal and frame.
Recent exterior updates commissioned by the seller include chrome 15" Cragar 5-spoke wheels wrapped in a fresh set of Cooper Cobra Radial G/T rubber. The car is equipped with manual drum brakes, F41 suspension, and a new quick ratio GTO steering box.
A new set of deluxe bucket seats with matching door panels and seat belts complement the red interior. The flooring is complete with a new factory-style loop red carpet. A center console is equipped surrounding the shifter for the automatic transmission and trimmed in a woodgrain veneer.
The dash housing was refinished in the correct shade of red, and a new pad was added along with a new 3-spoke GTO steering wheel. A wood veneer bezel surrounds the gauge cluster consisting of a speedometer and various warning lights.
The engine bay houses the 389ci/325hp v8 mated to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a 4bbl carburetor, chrome valve covers, and power steering. The engine block and heads are finished in the correct Pontiac blue, while the inner fenders and firewall are matte black.
F41 suspension, including the factory front sway bar and a 10-bolt rear end, can be found on the car's underside. Additional photos of the underside are shown in the gallery.
The trunk is complete with a floor mat, a spare 15" wheel and tire, and a jack base tool.

@CHOPPRZ – Hello, Active hood scoop? Thank you. ...
No most GTO hood scoops are cosmetic only from the factory
@HenryKSmith – Is the 389 the original engine? Has it had any work performed on it other than cosmetic? Is the TH350 the original transmission and has it had any work performed on it? It appears to have come with a column shifter so I assume it was converted to the floor shift unit. Any more information you could furnish on the mechanical restoration would be appreciated. The cosmetic restoration looks great. Just trying to get an idea of what mechanical needs may be required. ...
I know its at least correct engine, but I can't confirm if its original since sequential VINs were not stamped on the block by pontiac
@SteveWitte – Does this car have a heater installed? ...
The mechanicals are there for it but its not currently hooked up
