This 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS is a matching-numbers 396/350 example with a 4-speed Muncie manual transmission and 12-bolt rear end. An older restoration included an engine rebuild and exterior/interior refurbishment. The Super Sport option consisted of bright engine accents, power disc brakes, power steering, special trim with SS emblems, a black painted grille, front and rear spoilers, a Hurst shifter, Rallye gauges with a factory tachometer, a center console, and more. This first-year, second-generation SS has been with the seller for one year and is offered with restoration documentation, a partial build sheet and a clear Texas title in the seller's name.
The body is finished in Forest Green (color code 48) with special "SS" trim, a black grille, SS emblems, front and rear spoilers, and hide-away windshield wipers. Photos show the condition of the paint in close-up and note minor blemishes.
15" SS wheels are wrapped in white-raised-letter 255/60 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires.
Dark Green custom vinyl (trim code 724) is complemented by olive loop carpet, a locking center console, wood grain dash fascia, seat belts, and a factory Hurst shifter. Photos show cracks in the passenger door panel and worn carpet in the driver-side foot well.
Interior features include Rallye gauges with a 150-mph speedometer, 7k tachometer, and AM/FM stereo. The current odometer reading is 88,655 miles, and this number is unlikely to change much as the car is only driven occasionally.
Power is provided by an original matching-numbers 396ci V8 producing 350-hp and mated to a 4-speed Muncie M20 wide-ratio manual transmission and 12-bolt rear end with 3.31:1 gears. Hood insulation, a 4-barrrel carburetor, and a chrome air cleaner and valve covers are featured.
Deceleration and handling are managed by power disc brakes and power steering. Additional photos showing components and the overall condition of the underside are provided in the gallery.
Some documentation of the refurbishment is available and will go with the car, in addition to a partial build sheet. A walk-around video is available below.

My mistake. Does have console. I apologize. !
To each is own. Having owned a real Big Block 4 spd car I suggest this car is an assembled one. Has wierd dash for a no air car. No console. One chrome mirror. Mine had color to body matched sport mirrors. Also had tilt steering. Rear sway bar was welded to chassis. So in my opinion the current bidding has exceeded the actual value. Other real cars are available. Documents are crucial for verification. Body tags mean nearly nothing these days.

@NunyaBizness – Ok so based on the cowl tag, this is not a SS so someone just threw badging on there. For us doenst really matter if price is right so question really is....what type of body work has been done that you know of & has it been wrecked etc? ...
Not sure how you're determining this isn't an SS with the trim tag. It has the L34 code for a 395/350hp engine which to my knowledge was only available on the SS, which is what the car is stated to have. It may be missing some other SS items cosmetically, but am I missing something that proves this car is not an SS?
BID: $21,500
@NunyaBizness – Thanks & maybe I missed it so sorry if its in there, but want to make sure you have a clear title. Not just a bill of sale. Thanks ...
No problem, I do have clear Texas title. Thanks.
@GrahamW – I have owned the car for a year - certainly not wrecked during that time. The car is just how I purchased it so I cannot say if it was ever wrecked or what body work has been done other than at some point it was restored because the undercarriage shows that as well as the current paint job, which is pretty good but not show quality . I wanted a nice looking driver for nice days that was pretty worry free and that’s what this has been. I can tell you there is no noticeable pull in the steering or when braking. I hope that is helpful. Thanks. ...
