1970 CHEVROLET CHEVELLE SS 454 LS6

OVERVIEW

This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Sport Coupe has accrued 500 miles since receiving a frame-off restoration completed in 2018. It is powered by its reportedly original LS6 454cid V8 backed by a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a domed hood, power steering, an AM/FM radio, and power front disc brakes. Finished in Fathom Blue over a black vinyl interior, this Chevelle comes from the selling dealer with a build sheet, documentation, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the frame-off restoration, the body was refinished in the original color of Fathom Blue (code 28). Features include chrome bumpers, a domed hood, a black grille with SS emblems, a newer windshield, wheel opening moldings, a driver-side rearview mirror, and a black rear bumper pad with an SS emblem.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of silver 14-inch Magnum 500 steel wheels with chrome SS center caps and stainless steel trim rings are wrapped in 225/70R14 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that were installed in 2018.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The overhauled cabin is furnished with a black vinyl front bench seat and a matching rear seat surrounded by black vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, power steering, a column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and an AM/FM radio. 

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, temperature, and amperage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 4,327 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original LS6 454cid V8 and backed by a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, and a chrome air cleaner housing.
