383-Powered 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad

OVERVIEW

This 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad has received new paint, custom upholstery, and engine, transmission, suspension, and braking system upgrades as part of a custom build process completed in 2022. It is powered by a Boghosian Racing Engines-built 383cid V8 equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system and backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Features include tinted glass, Dakota Digital analog gauges, air conditioning, a touchscreen AM/FM/Bluetooth/SirusXM stereo, an Ididit tilt steering column, power rack-and-pinion steering, Wilwood power disc brakes, and a full Ridetech coilover suspension. Finished in a two-tone of white pearl and gray over a black leather interior, this Nomad comes with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the build process, the reportedly rust-free body was refinished in a two-tone of white pearl over an Audi shade of gray. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, chrome headlight and side trim, a fender-mounted antenna, tinted glass, and dual rearview mirrors. The seller states that the body was stripped to bare metal, all of the panel gaps were fitted, and new tinted glass, weatherstrips, and seals were installed. Additionally, all of the chrome and stainless trim pieces are reported to be in great condition. A walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 18-inch front and 20-inch rear Avant Garde chrome wheels is wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with black leather power front bucket seats and a matching rear seat, surrounded by black leather door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, an Ididit tilt steering column, power steering, a custom center console-mounted Lokar automatic transmission shifter, a touchscreen AM/FM/SiriusXM/Bluetooth stereo, and air conditioning. An American Autowire electrical harness has been installed.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Dakota Digital analog gauges that includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, engine temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. With 215 miles added during the seller's eight-year ownership, the digital odometer reads 215 miles, which reflects the mileage logged since the build was completed.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by Boghosian Racing Engines-built 383cid V8 equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system and backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. According to the seller, the engine produces 550 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Engine bay features include a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, Eddie Motorsports billet aluminum hood hinges, an MSD electronic ignition system, AN fittings, hard plumbing, a billet aluminum serpentine belt engine accessory drive system, a Mattson's custom radiator, a shaved firewall, and body-color inner fenders. The battery has been removed from the firewall and relocated.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Nomad is equipped with an independent front suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, and a Currie nine-inch Ford rear axle with 3.73:1 gears and a limited-slip differential. A full Ridetech suspension system with four-way coilovers and heavy-duty sway bars has been installed. Braking is provided by Wilwood Hydroboost power discs. A custom stainless dual exhaust system flows from custom-built A.R.C.E stainless headers and exits at the rear. A rear mini tub kit has been installed.
