Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 2nd Series 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Task Force pickup received new sheet metal and paint along with interior updates and mechanical upgrades as part of a restoration completed 3,000 miles ago. It is powered by a 383cid stroker V8 equipped with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system and paired with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Features include a wood bed floor, power windows, power steering, a tilt steering column, air conditioning, an updated wiring harness, a relocated fuel tank, and power disc brakes. Finished in burnt orange over a tan leather interior, this Chevrolet comes from the selling dealer with vehicle documentation, receipts, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration, which retained the original cab and frame, the reportedly rust-free body was finished in burnt orange paint that was inspired by the Daytona Sunset Orange available on the C6 Corvette. Features include chrome bumpers, a shaved hood, new steel front fenders, dual rearview mirrors, a shaved cab-mounted fuel filler, a new steel bed and fenders, a new oak wood bed floor, a bed floor-mounted fuel filler, and a tailgate with an embossed Chevrolet bow tie.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of chrome five-spoke American Racing wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a modified tan leather 2003 Buick LeSabre seat surrounded by black and burnt orange door panels and trim. Features include power windows and steering, air conditioning, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, an aluminum three-spoke steering wheel, and a Holley Sniper fuel injection system monitoring panel.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. With 3,000 miles added since the restoration was completed, the odometer reads 3,000 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 383cid stroker V8 and backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a shift kit. According to the selling dealer, the engine produces 430 horsepower. Engine bay features include aluminum heads, chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, a K&N air filter, Corvette exhaust manifolds, a polished aluminum radiator, and new steel inner fenders.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevrolet is equipped with a solid front axle and a Ford nine-inch rear drive axle with a limited-slip differential and 3.73:1 gears. Braking is provided by power discs. A 2.5-inch dual exhaust system exits at the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The dealer will include vehicle documentation and receipts as part of the sale.
