This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette was purchased by the seller in 1974 and was the recipient of a body-off restoration completed in 2009. Finished in yellow over a black interior, the car is powered by an L79 327ci V8 mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. This three-owner C2 has been with the seller for 46 years and is offered with additional parts, books and trophies, and a clean California title in the seller's name.
A Sunfire Yellow finish with a matching hardtop makes this example one of 1,303 produced in 1966. Styling features include chrome accents, vented front fenders, and dual exhaust. New motors from Detroit Speed allow for the proper function of the pop-up headlights.
Period-correct 15" steel wheels are wrapped in a set of white striped tires. Manual steering is equipped along with power brakes which were installed during the seller's ownership.
Black leather has replaced the original vinyl, but the factory AM/FM radio, electric antenna, and manual window cranks remain.
The instrument panel features battery and oil pressure gauges as well as a 160-mph speedometer and 7k tachometer. 20,828 miles have been driven since the 2009 restoration per the seller.
The original, matching-numbers L79 V8 was damaged beyond repair two years after the seller acquired the car in 1974 and replaced. Currently, it's powered by a period-correct 327/350 horsepower V8, backed by a 4-speed manual transmission with a 3.70:1 positraction rear end.
Additional photos showing the condition of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
Awards, a collection of additional parts, including an extra 327 crankshaft and sleeved engine block, a warranty book, a vehicle inspection sheet, a dealer stock card, and pre and post-restoration photos will go with the car.
