This 1957 Ford Fairlane Club Sedan is a matching-numbers, highly original example that shows 89k miles and has been with the seller's family since 1993. Power is provided by the original 292ci Thunderbird V8 mated to its factory 3-speed automatic transmission. A period-correct repaint in Ford Doeskin Tan was applied, and the bumpers were re-chromed after the seller's purchase and again three years ago. This Fairlane was sold new by Len Brenner's Classic Auto in Monterey, California, and is offered with full service and refurbishment records, owner's books and literature, and a clear Colorado title.
After the car's purchase from the second owner in 1993, the front floor pans were patched due to window seal leaks, and a correct Doeskin Tan (MO748) repaint was carried out thereafter. The bumpers and brightwork were re-chromed at the time and then again three years ago.
Period-correct disc-style wheels are fitted with 8.00"x14" Coker tires of unknown age.
The interior is trimmed in tan vinyl with tan cloth inserts and with matching dash and door cards. A full-size spare is located in the carpeted trunk. Photos show some scuff marks on the rear seat cushion.
A 120-mph "sweep" speedometer and factory gauges and controls reside in the dash behind the vinyl-wrapped steering wheel with a chrome horn ring. The factory AM radio, heat and ventilation controls and a glove compartment round out the features.
The matching-numbers 292ci V8 is mated to the original and matching 3-speed automatic. The seller notes a minor transmission fluid leak onto the tail shaft and replacement aftermarket spark plug wires.
Additional photos showing the underside are provided in the gallery below.
A logbook containing service records and ownership history, factory manuals and brochures, and other material are included in the sale.
