OVERVIEW
This restored 1972 Buick Skylark Sport Coupe styled after the GSX is powered by a 455cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a GS hood, a hood-mounted tachometer, GSX stripes, a GSX rear spoiler, power steering, and power brakes. Finished in white over a black vinyl interior, this Buick comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body has been finished in white. Features include chrome bumpers, a black grille, a GS hood, black hood stripes with red accents, a hood-mounted tachometer, color-keyed mirror housings with a manual driver-side remote, black GSX side stripes that extend to the GSX rear spoiler, and GSX decals. A set of 15-inch chrome Buick wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with black vinyl front bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by black vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, power steering, a center console-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and woodgrain accents.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 200-mph speedometer, clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. An 8,000-rpm tachometer is mounted on the hood. Additional gauges can be found above the center console. The odometer reads 7 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 455cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, and a GS 455 Stage 1 Ram Air air cleaner assembly with a chrome lid. This Buick was originally equipped with air conditioning, but the compressor and refrigerant lines have been removed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Buick is equipped with an independent front suspension and a 10-bolt solid rear drive axle with 3.42:1 gears. Braking is power-assisted. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
