Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This three-owner 1970 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray coupe is reportedly the result of an $80,000 total investment that includes a documented build process consisting of fresh paint, new side-exit exhaust pipes, Rally wheels, a Kenwood Bluetooth audio system, an Edelbrock 350cid V8 crate engine with Holley fuel injection, and a new 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Daytona Yellow over a black leather and houndstooth cloth interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with receipts, a binder of service records, owner’s booklets, the Protect-O-Plate, two pairs of removable T-tops, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly rust-free original body was repainted Daytona Yellow at a $14,000 expense during the restoration about five years ago. Features include chrome bumpers, pop-up headlights, vented front fenders, electric windshield wipers, flush-mounted door handles, dual side mirrors, and new $3,000 side-exit exhaust outlets.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 15-inch Rally wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in 255/60 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The two-seat cockpit is trimmed with black leather bucket seats with houndstooth cloth inserts; coordinating materials are located on the door panels, dash, and center console. Features include woodgrain veneer trim, power windows, power steering, a Holley Sniper EFI control unit, Vintage Air air conditioning and heat, a Kenwood Bluetooth-enabled stereo, new front and rear fiber optics, lap belts, and newer carpeting.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 92,200 miles, which the selling dealer asserts is a true reading.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The crate-sourced Edelbrock 350cid small-block V8 has a four-bolt main block and was rated by the manufacturer at 430 horsepower. It was upgraded during installation with a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, a steel crankshaft, Edelbrock aluminum heads, an Edelbrock polished intake, Crane Cams 1.6 roller rockers and lifters, a Crane Cams camshaft, Hooker long-tube headers, and a new fuel tank with an in-tank fuel pump. Service was reportedly completed within the past year. Power is sent to the back wheels via a console-shifted 4L60E four-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction rear end.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The suspension has been upgraded with Bilstein shock absorbers as well as a new sway bar, rear leaf springs, U-joints, wheel bearings, and adjustable traction arms. Stopping ability is provided by power-assisted disc brakes.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The car will come with receipts, owner’s booklets, build documentation, a binder of service records, and the Protect-O-Plate card. In addition, two sets of removable T-tops with storage bags will be included: one with tinted glass and another finished in Daytona Yellow.

@96harleydude – No pics of the frame, suspension, etc. Rust? What about the upper birdcage? Any rust/corrosion? You have the p-o-p, do you have a build sheet (tank sheet)? Thanks. ...

Not sure why those weren't added and we've contacted Autohunter to have those included to the photos. There is definitely not any rust.
