OVERVIEW
This modified 2001 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra convertible is powered by a Vortech-supercharged, Sean Hyland Motorsports-built 5.0-liter V8 backed by a TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual transmission. Upgrades include a louvered hood, chrome wheels, a short-throw shifter, digital instrumentation, forged pistons, ported heads, and an 8.8-inch rear end. Finished in black and equipped with a black cloth power-retractable top over a two-tone black leather and gray microfiber interior, this custom fourth-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The black exterior features a color-matched power-retractable soft top with a heated glass rear window. Equipment includes fog lamps, a louvered hood, Cobra badging, a spoiler, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome Mustang Cobra R-style five-spoke wheels with low-profile tires have been added.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is fitted with two-tone black leather and gray suede-like microfiber bucket seats up front, two seats in the rear, and coordinating door panels, dash, center console, carpeting, and Cobra-branded floor mats. Features include power windows, power door locks, power steering, cruise control, air conditioning, an aftermarket radio, a Pro 5.0 short-throw shifter, and Cobra embroidery.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A digital screen takes the place of the stock instrumentation and features a 140-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and additional readouts. Auxiliary AutoMeter gauges on top of the dash display the boost pressure and fuel pressure. The digital odometer reads 1,932 miles. The most recent mileage figure recorded on the CARFAX report in 2013 was 63,117 miles .
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 5.0-liter stroker V8 was built by Sean Hyland Motorsports and balanced and blueprinted by AMT Racing Engines in Ferguson, Missouri. Equipment includes a forged crankshaft, pistons, and rods; ported heads; and Stage 1 camshafts. The Vortech Ti-Trim supercharger has race bearings and provides 20 pounds of boost. A dyno report showed 723 horsepower on E85 fuel. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted TREMEC T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a built 8.8-inch rear end with 31-spline axles and 3.55:1 gearing.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Upgrades have reportedly been made to the suspension and the disc braking system. Wilwood calipers are fitted up front.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report begins in 2001 and shows accident-free ownership in Georgia, South Carolina, Maryland, Illinois, and Missouri. A $500 dealer fee will be added to the purchase price. The dealer has provided a video with a start-up along with exterior and interior views.
The reserve is over 40K so doesn't look like it will sell today. Apparently no one knows that the motor alone has 30K into it.

@Alabama_slamma – So if I’m reading this right, you want me to pay Autohunter their 6.5% for getting the winning bid, paying you the winning bid and then tracking on another $500 just because ? ...
Actually the $500 is my doc fee as a dealer. You could go to another auction and pay 10% if you win the bid. However I believe you are a tire kicker if you are complaining about $500 dollars.

@JDub – 1,932 miles shown. Is this accurate? ...
Since the motor, tranny, and rear end have been built.
