OVERVIEW
This 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS is an all-wheel-drive sport sedan powered by a 2.5-liter flat-four mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. It was delivered new to Lithia Reno Subaru in Nevada and has spent its life in California. Within the last 2,500 miles, it received a new head gasket, timing chain, and water pump. Equipment includes fog lamps, a power sunroof, a custom audio system, and a four-wheel independent suspension. Finished in Silverthorn Metallic over a black and gray patterned cloth interior, this first-generation Impreza is now offered with owner’s booklets, a window sticker, service records, two Viper alarm key fobs, spare floor mats, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title in the seller’s name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was resprayed in the original color of Silverthorn Metallic (code 792) in 2021 and shows some overspray as well as flaking on the rear bumper, according to the seller. Features include fog lamps, a hood scoop, fender-mounted side markers, a power sunroof, color-keyed body-side moldings, a sport tailpipe, and a spoiler.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The aluminum 16-inch six-spoke wheels have been painted black and are wrapped in 205/55 GT Radial Touring VP Plus tires that were installed in 2018.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is furnished with black and gray patterned cloth bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching colors for the door panels, dash, center console, carpeting, and Subaru-branded full-coverage vinyl floor mats. Features include tinted power windows, power door locks, variable-assist power steering, a tilt-adjustable steering column, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, air conditioning, map lights, a 12-volt power outlet, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The custom audio system features a Pioneer touchscreen head unit, four JL Audio speakers, a JL Audio 10-inch subwoofer in a trunk enclosure, and a JL Audio 2500-watt five-channel amplifier.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, a digital clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 162,580 miles, which lines up with the most recent figure of 162,520 miles recorded on the CARFAX report in January 2024.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The EJ251 2.5-liter flat-four was rated at 165 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque when new. Work performed under the seller’s ownership includes a synthetic oil change in January 2024 as well as the replacement of the head gasket, timing chain, water pump, and fuel filter less than 2,500 miles ago in 2021. Power is sent to all four wheels via a console-shifted four-speed automatic transmission and a viscous limited-slip rear differential. The seller notes that a Subaru dealership inspection showed a slightly frayed fuel line and that a reverse light bulb was out.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping power comes from four-channel anti-lock disc brakes. Handling is performed by a four-wheel independent suspension.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report shows accident-free ownership in California since new. An emissions inspection was performed in January 2024. The sale includes service records, owner’s booklets, two Viper alarm key fobs, the factory floor mats, and a window sticker showing an original retail price of $21,514. The seller has provided a series of short videos that show the exterior, interior, engine bay, and a driving demonstration.
