OVERVIEW

This Classic Motor Carriages Gazelle is a 1929 Mercedes-Benz-styled kit car equipped with the 2.3-liter I4, three-speed automatic transmission, and underpinnings of a 1976 Ford Pinto. Features include a Sony AM/FM/CD radio, bucket seats, a wood dashboard, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and front disc brakes. Finished in two-tone yellow over brown and equipped with a manual tan vinyl convertible top over a brown vinyl interior, this Gazelle comes from the selling dealer with vehicle documentation, a pair of new front seat covers, and a bill of sale.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The fiberglass exterior consists of a yellow body, brown fenders, and a tan vinyl manual convertible top. The selling dealer states that a tear is present in the front driver-side corner of the top, which is visible in the gallery to the right. Features include amber front fog lights, a chrome grille and headlight buckets, a driver-side rearview mirror, tan accent pinstriping, a luggage rack, a hinged trunk compartment, and a rear-mounted spare tire.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of chrome 14-inch Superior Continental X-4 wire wheels is wrapped in 205/75 whitewall radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with brown vinyl bucket seats surrounded by brown vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual steering, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, a wooden dashboard panel, and a Sony AM/FM/CD radio. The selling dealer states that the seams on the front seats have come undone.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 130-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, and more are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 22,982 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the 2.3-liter I4 and backed by the three-speed automatic transmission from a 1976 Ford Pinto. An oil change was completed in 2023.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Gazelle is equipped with a Ford Pinto independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. The single exhaust system exits at the rear.
