Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This two-owner 1977 GMC C2500 Sierra Classic is powered by the reportedly original 454cid V8 backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a sliding rear window, a bed-mounted tool box, dual fuel tanks, a tilt steering column, an AM/FM radio, air conditioning, a new power steering box, and power front disc brakes. Finished in Neutral and Russet over a tan vinyl and cloth interior, this 3/4-ton GMC pickup comes with a build sheet, service records, the removed original power steering box, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The body is reportedly wearing the original factory-applied finish of Neutral (code 60) and Russet (code 68). Features include chrome bumpers with front bumper guards, 1977-only two-tone side trim with yellow inserts, dual rearview mirrors, a sliding rear window, a long Wideside pickup box, dual fuel tanks, a bed-mounted Kobalt tool box, and tailgate trim. The seller states that this California pickup is rust-free, has always been stored in a garage, and has not received any body repairs. Additionally, the passenger-side trim above the rear tire is scratched and a rear brake light's chrome trim is not straight.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 16.5-inch white steel wheels is wrapped in new 9.50R16.5LT Firestone Transforce HT radial tires that were installed in December 2023.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cab is furnished with a tan cloth and vinyl bench seat surrounded by tan vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, an AM/FM radio, air conditioning, and woodgrain accents.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 100-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. With 100 miles added during the seller's 2.5 years of ownership, the odometer reads 97,000 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by the reportedly original four-barrel 454cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that a new power steering box has been installed and all of the gaskets, seals, and fluids have been replaced. According to the service records, the valve cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, and differential cover gasket were replaced in 2023. In addition, the air conditioning system  was converted to R-134a refrigerant and charged.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This GMC was factory-equipped with the Camper Special package (code Z81), which included a seven-wire camper body wiring harness, a heavy-duty front stabilizer bar, and heavy-duty front springs. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. The dual exhaust system exits behind the rear tires. The seller states that new shocks, sway bar bushings, and cab bushings have been installed.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

A build sheet, service records, and the removed original power steering box, which needs to be rebuilt, will come with the purchase of the vehicle.
