Duramax-Powered 2014 Chevrolet Express 3500 Quigley 4X4 Conversion

OVERVIEW

This one-owner 2014 Chevrolet Express 3500 Passenger Van was equipped with a Quigley 4x4 conversion when new. It is powered by a Duramax turbodiesel 6.6-liter V8 backed by a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Power features include the windows, locks, steering, and disc brakes. EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The reportedly rust-free body is finished in green. Features include chrome bumpers with black trim, black running boards, a fender-mounted antenna, and a rear trailer hitch. The seller states that small dents are present in the rear door and the rear bumper and the paint on the hood is chipped in one spot. In January 2021, the front bumper, grille, and hood were damaged when the vehicle hit a deer and were repaired by a body shop.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 18-inch Fuel wheels is wrapped in 265/65 Falken Wildpeak radial tires that were new in June 2023.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with tan vinyl front bucket seats protected by multicolor aftermarket covers and surrounded by tan door panels and black trim. Features include power windows and locks, power steering, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, cruise control, air conditioning, a Pioneer double-DIN AM/FM/CD/GPS/Sirius touchscreen head unit, a floor-mounted transfer case shifter, and a trailer brake controller. The seller states that some cracks are present in the original seat upholstery and the traction control light flashes occasionally in hard turns at slow speeds due to the oversized tires.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 251,800 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate. The last reported mileage of 251,538 was logged on the CARFAX report in January 2024.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a Duramax turbodiesel 6.6-liter V8 and backed by a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case that was installed during the Quigley 4x4 conversion. According to the Quigley website, other parts added during that process include a manual transfer case shifter, a 4x4 indicator light, and a torsion-bar independent front suspension. An oil and filter change has reportedly been completed every 5,000 miles and was last done in December of 2023. In June 2023, two new Interstate batteries were installed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Braking is provided by power anti-lock discs with Dynamic Rear Proportioning. In August 2023, new shocks were installed. The single exhaust system exits at the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The CARFAX report starts in February 2014 and shows ownership in California. In January 2021, an accident that caused minor to moderate damage to the front and right rear of the vehicle was reported.
