OVERVIEW
This restored 58,826-mile 1960 Ford Thunderbird is one of 3,900 produced in its particular body style and engine configuration, according to the Vintage Thunderbird Club International. Power from the Thunderbird 430 Special V8 is backed by a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission, both of which are reportedly original. Features include an aftermarket manual sunroof, power steering, air conditioning, a vintage-look AM/FM radio, bucket seats, power windows, and power brakes. Finished in Corinthian White over a beige leather interior, this Thunderbird comes from the selling dealer with the removed original radio, vehicle documentation, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free body has been refinished in the original factory color of Corinthian White (code M). Features include chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, an aftermarket tinted manual sunroof, dual rearview mirrors, removable body-color rear wheel skirts, and a rear-mounted antenna. An exterior and interior walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of black 14-inch steel wheels with full hubcaps is wrapped in 215/75 whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with beige leather (code 84) front bucket seats and a matching rear seat surrounded by beige door panels and trim. According to the selling dealer, the seat covers are original, but the seats have been re-stuffed. Features include power windows and steering, a steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, factory air conditioning, and a vintage-look AM/FM radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 140-mph speedometer, a nonoperational clock, and gauges for the fuel level and temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 58,826 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be original and documented mileage.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Output from the 350-horsepower, four-barrel Thunderbird 430 Special V8 is backed by a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Both are original to the car, according to the selling dealer. The fluids were serviced in 2023.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Thunderbird was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The removed original radio and vehicle documentation will come with the purchase of the car.
