OVERVIEW
This restored Mercury-based 1946 Monarch Tudor Sedan was built by Ford of Canada for Canadian Ford dealerships. It is powered by a rebuilt 239cid flathead V8 backed by a three-speed manual transmission, both of which are reportedly original to the car. Features include a heater, a new carburetor, a new electronic ignition system, and a new fuel pump. Finished in burgundy over a brown vinyl and tan cloth interior, this Monarch comes from the selling dealer with receipts and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
According to Ford of Canada, the Monarch brand's models were based on Mercury vehicles, but restyled to resemble Ford models. Originally finished in Black (code M1724), the reportedly rust-free body of this Tudor Sedan was refinished in burgundy during the restoration over 10 years ago. Features include chrome bumpers and a chrome grille, side and mid-body trim, dual rearview mirrors, and Monarch emblems.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of body-color 15-inch steel wheels with chrome Mercury hubcaps is wrapped in whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with brown vinyl and tan cloth seats surrounded by coordinating door panels and trim. Features include manual windows and steering, an accessory turn signal system, a steering column-mounted manual transmission shifter, a heater, and an AM radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 100-mph speedometer, a clock, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 6,982 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by the reportedly original 239cid flathead V8, which has logged less than 300 miles since being rebuilt in 2020 and comes paired with the reportedly original three-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include a new carburetor, a new electronic ignition, and a new fuel pump. The selling dealer states that the fluids were serviced in 2023.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Monarch was factory-equipped with a solid front axle and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Receipts will come with the purchase of the vehicle.

To all of you who are asking questions I apologize for any delays in getting back to you. I am out of town at the moment and I did not have access to the Internet. I appreciate you looking at the car.
@twjandro – Do all gauges work And what does not work ?? ...
Yes, the gauges all work. The temperature gauge is quirky like all Fords from that era. Basically when you first start the car, it goes immediately to high and as the car reaches temperature, it comes down to where it needs to be and works fine. I believe that’s how they all worked thank you for asking.
@twjandro – What would fright cost too Minnesota 55327. ...
Freight to Minnesota will be approximately $900 on an open trailer. Thank you very much for asking.
@Muddymoose – how does the vehicle run and is it ready to be registered for the road (road worthy)? ...
The car is totally roadworthy. It will drive pretty much anyway that you want to drive. There is nothing that you need to do to it. It is registered as we speak and on the road thank you.
