Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This magazine-featured and reportedly award-winning 1932 Ford three-window coupe is powered by a Chevrolet 350ci V8 that has been bored 0.040 over and connected to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include bobbed rear fenders, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo, a tilt steering column, a Vintage Air climate control system, and electric windshield wipers. Finished in Midnight Blue with multicolor pinstriping over a red and white vinyl interior, this Ford comes from the selling dealer with the magazines it was featured in, build documentation photos, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The Flatlander's reproduction fiberglass body has a filled roof and cowl and is finished in Ford's Midnight Blue. Features include a Wescott radiator shell with an Energy Red-finished Vintique Inc. stainless steel insert, sealed-beam headlight buckets with Mooneyes covers, chrome headlight stands, chrome motorcycle front turn signals, a chrome windshield frame, a driver-side rearview mirror, bobbed rear fenders, multicolor pinstriping, and 1948 Chevrolet taillights with blue-dot lenses.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of red steel wheels with 1948 Ford chrome center caps and trim rings is wrapped in whitewall bias-ply tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is furnished with a 1932 Ford-style seat frame with curved sides that is upholstered in red and white pleated vinyl and surrounded by red and white pleated vinyl door panels and trim. Features include manual windows, a 1968 Pontiac Firebird steering column, a Grant steering wheel, a Ron Francis wiring kit, floor-mounted battery and master cylinder access doors, and a floor-mounted Gennie automatic transmission shifter. Additional features include a Vintage Air climate control system, an overhead console-mounted AM/FM/CD player and speakers, a 1932 Ford dome light, and red carpeting. The trunk is upholstered to match the interior.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Mooneyes gauges including a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, water temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver in a 1932 Ford-style dashboard panel. A 10,000-rpm Mooneyes tachometer is mounted to the steering column. The odometer reads 4,841 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a balanced and blueprinted Chevrolet 350ci V8 that has been bored 0.040 over and connected to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission with a 2,600-rpm stall converter. Internal engine features include a set of TRW 8.5:1 forged aluminum pistons, a COMP Cams Stage I Thumpr camshaft, high-volume oil and water pumps, 194 valve heads, and Stellite valve seats with stainless steel valves. UNDERCARRIAGE
