OVERVIEW
This custom 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad frame-off build has received several upgrades including 20-inch Ridler wheels, a new interior with a Vintage Air climate control system, and a completely painted undercarriage. It is powered by a fuel-injected 5.7-liter V8 crate engine backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Features include power rack-and-pinion steering, power windows and locks, a vintage-look Custom Autosound AM/FM radio, Dakota Digital analog gauges, tubular front control arms, and power disc brakes. Finished in Regal Turquoise and Ivory over a tan leather and suede-like microfiber interior, this Nomad comes from the selling dealer with build photos, manuals, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the frame-off build process, the body was finished in Regal Turquoise and Ivory. Features include chrome bumpers, headlight and side trim, rocker moldings, dual rearview mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED taillights, and tailgate trim. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 20-inch Ridler Style 607 two-tone multi-spoke wheels is wrapped in radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is furnished with a tan leather and suede-like microfiber bench seat and a matching rear seat surrounded by custom-sculpted tan door panels and trim. Features include power windows and locks, power steering, an Ididit tilt steering column with an automatic transmission shifter, a four-spoke Lecarra steering wheel with a black grip, an electric windshield wiper conversion, a Custom Autosound AM/FM radio, and a Vintage Air climate control system.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of Dakota Digital VHX analog instruments that includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The digital odometer reads 14,239 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 5.7-liter V8 crate engine and backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include polished aluminum valve covers, an Edelbrock tuned-port fuel injection system, aluminum heads, a polished air conditioning compressor, a custom air intake tube, a polished alternator, a chrome brake master cylinder and power booster, an aluminum radiator, and Eddie Motorsports polished aluminum hood hinges.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Nomad is equipped with an independent front suspension with tubular control arms and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power discs. The floor pans have been painted to match the body. A dual exhaust system with power cut-outs exits at the rear.
