OVERVIEW
This 1989 Ford Bronco Eddie Bauer was converted into a four-door Metropolitan model by Magnum Motor Coach of Sturgis, Michigan and has been with the seller since new. It is powered by a replacement Windsor 351cid V8, which is backed by a four-speed automatic transmission with a dual-range transfer case. Features include a chrome grille guard, front power windows and locks, cruise control, a Kenwood AM/FM/cassette radio, air conditioning, and a heated power rear window. Finished in red and equipped with a tan padded vinyl top and a body-color removable hardtop over a tan cloth interior, this Bronco Metropolitan comes with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
Originally finished in blue, the exterior was refinished in red in 2010. Features include a chrome grille guard, chrome bumpers, dual rearview mirrors, a tan vinyl top, a body-color removable hardtop, roof rails, a heated power rear window, and a rear-mounted spare tire with a cover. The seller states that rust damage is present below the rear driver-side window and above the rear driver-side wheel. Additionally, a few small hail dents are present and there are chips in the windshield.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15-inch five-spoke chrome wheels with manual locking front hubs is wrapped in new 31” x 10.50” Dick Cepek Trail Country radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The modified cabin is furnished with tan cloth front captain's chairs, a matching folding 80/20-split middle seat, and a full-width rear seat surrounded by tan vinyl door panels and trim. Features include power front windows and locks, manual rear door windows and locks, power steering, cruise control, a steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a Kenwood AM/FM/cassette stereo, a trailer brake controller, a floor-mounted transfer case shifter, and air conditioning with roof-mounted rear vents.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
An 85-mph speedometer, a 6,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 66,407 miles, but the seller reports they have put 130,000 miles on this vehicle during their ownership. A potential speedometer rollover was logged in the CARFAX report in September 2016 at 54,289 miles; the last reported mileage of 62,368 was recorded in 2017.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The replacement Windsor 351cid V8 was installed by a Ford dealership in 1992 and is connected to a four-speed automatic transmission with a dual-range transfer case. The seller states that an oil change was completed and the fluids were checked in 2023. A video of this Bronco being driven is available below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Bronco was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension, a solid rear axle, and part-time four-wheel drive. The wheelbase was stretched from 104.7 inches to 140 inches during the conversion process. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. The single exhaust system exits at the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report starts in November 1988 and shows an accident-free history with ownership in Montana and Tennessee.
