OVERVIEW
This 1988 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce convertible has been driven 72,350 miles since new and is powered by a fuel-injected 2.0-liter I4 mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It went through an exterior, interior, and mechanical restoration in 2018 and comes equipped with a rear spoiler, Cromodora wheels, power windows, and four-wheel power disc brakes. Finished in Alfa Red and equipped with a black cloth retractable top over a tan leather interior, this Series 3 Spider is now offered with owner’s booklets, more than $14,000 in service records, a CARFAX report, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was resprayed Alfa Red (code 530) and equipped with a new black soft top in 2018 during the restoration process. Features include a front air dam, black and chrome bumpers, black and body-color mirror housings, a rear spoiler, and a single exhaust outlet. Service records show the rear side markers, rear spoiler, and rear lights were replaced in 2018.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 14-inch Cromodora wheels are wrapped in 185/70 Barum Brillantis 2 tires that were installed in February 2020.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
As part of the 2018 restoration, the seats were reupholstered in tan leather and new carpeting was installed. Features include power windows, R-134a-compatible air conditioning, an AM/FM/cassette radio, and black and red floor mats. The seller notes that the signal switch was replaced in March 2024 and the driver-side power window is slow to operate.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The Jaeger-branded instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 72,350 miles, which lines up with the most recent figure of 65,049 miles recorded on the CARFAX report in 2019.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 2.0-liter DOHC I4 is housed within a forward-hinged hood and uses a Bosch electronic fuel injection system. It was factory rated at 115 horsepower and 119 lb-ft of torque when new. Service in March 2024 included an oil change and an R-134a air conditioning refrigerant conversion. Service in 2023 included an injector cleaning and the replacement of the fuel pump. A 2018 receipt shows that the clutch, alternator, water pump, hoses, and belts were replaced. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted five-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Braking is handled by four-wheel power discs. A 2018 receipt indicates work was performed on the front suspension, a wheel bearing, the driveshaft, and U-joints.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report begins in 1990 and shows ownership in California and Arizona. The car passed a California emissions inspection in 2019. It was classified as a Total Loss Vehicle in 2018 prior to undergoing repairs and restoration. The car will come with owner’s booklets and service records that show more than $14,000 in expenditures. The seller has provided videos with a start-up and an exterior walk-around.

Good morning fellow classic car enthusiasts. It’s been a great week of comments/questions, and bids. I appreciate it. With 4 hours to go, please let me know if you have additional questions. Hopefully it finds a good home today. I had the pleasure of driving it yesterday. Temperature in Phoenix was over 90, and car’s AC kept me cool without overheating issues. I’ll be checking the sight periodically to respond to any questions.
