OVERVIEW
This four-wheel-drive 1979 Ford F-350 Ranger Regular Cab Styleside pickup is powered by the reportedly original and rebuilt 400cid V8 backed by the reportedly original and rebuilt C-6 three-speed automatic transmission with an NP205 dual-range transfer case. The seller notes that 1979 was the first and only model year in this generation of the F-Series in which the F-350 was available with four-wheel drive. Features include a white Ford topper installed by the original owner, 37-inch Cooper tires, power steering, Vintage Air climate control with air conditioning, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo, a Dakota Digital instrument cluster, a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, a four-inch Skyjacker Suspensions lift, and power front disc brakes. Finished in Light Medium Blue over a newer two-tone blue cloth and vinyl interior, this garage-kept F-350 comes with a Deluxe Marti Report, rebuild and service records, removed original parts, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The rust-free body is wearing the original factory-applied finish of Light Medium Blue (code K), according to the seller. Features include chrome bumpers, a cowl-mounted antenna, dual rearview mirrors, wheel opening moldings, side steps, a sliding rear window, a Styleside bed, a bed-mounted locking tool box, dual fuel tanks, a white deluxe Ford topper that was purchased and installed by the original owner, and exterior cargo tie-down hooks. The seller states that a few dings are present on the body and a small dent is present in front of the rear bumper on the driver side. Additionally, the right front fender has a slight ripple in it and a bullet hole is present near the top of the bed on the driver side.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 17” x 9” Ultra wheels with new Warn manual locking front hubs is wrapped in 37” x 13.50” Cooper Discoverer STT Pro radial tires that were installed in 2020.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
According to the seller and third owner, the bench seat was reupholstered in two-tone blue cloth and vinyl by the first owner. That is surrounded by two-tone blue vinyl door panels and trim, and blue carpeting from Auto Custom Carpets that was installed new when the seller purchased this truck approximately five years ago. Features include manual windows, power steering, a steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo with a 10-inch subwoofer, a Vintage Air climate control system with air conditioning, and a floor-mounted transfer case shifter. The seller states that the floors looked new when the replacement carpeting was installed and cracks are present in the dash pad, which can be seen in the gallery to the right.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of Dakota Digital RTX gauges have been installed and include an 8,000-rpm tachometer, a 120-mph speedometer, a digital clock, a digital speedometer, and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, battery, and coolant temperature. With 1,456 miles added during the seller's five-year ownership, the odometer reads 81,854 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly original 400cid V8 has been rebuilt and bored 0.020 over. During the rebuild process, a new crankshaft, piston set, rings, piston rods, an Isky RV camshaft, roller rockers, and an Edelbrock aluminum intake were installed. Since then, the engine has accrued 1,000 miles. FiTech Fuel Injection in-tank electric fuel pumps, a set of Patriot Clippster headers, and a Ron Davis Racing Products aluminum radiator with dual electric fans have been added. The engine is backed by the reportedly original C-6 three-speed automatic transmission, which was rebuilt at a reported cost of $2,200 and paired with a Hughes Performance billet torque converter and an NP205 dual-range transfer case. The transmission has also accumulated less than 3,000 miles since being rebuilt.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Ford is equipped with a solid Dana 60 front axle, a solid Dana 60 rear drive axle, and part-time four-wheel drive. The seller states that a four-inch Skyjacker Suspensions lift with Rancho shocks and re-arched leaf springs has been installed. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. The dual exhaust system exits behind the rear tires.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller will include a Deluxe Marti Report, rebuild and service records, and removed original parts with the purchase of the vehicle.
