Appears to be a small exhaust leak

@Steve6979 – Please verify for me the exact engine that was rebuilt and put into the his car. There were two engines offered in the Trans Am in 1978. If this was originally a 4 speed transmission car, then it had the Pontiac 400 cid engine. However, there was an Oldsmobile 403 cid engine put into some of the automatic transmission cars at the factory installation. If this is the Pontiac engine, then it should have the T/A 6.6 decal on the shaker hood, so that raises the question. Very nice, well preserved presentation of the car. It would be very nice to own. ...
As the PHS report shows, it’s a W72. Someone put the wrong decals on the shaker, no mystery.
Steve is 100% correct. The wheels indicate the W86 suspension package, but the decal on the shaker suggests that the Oldsmobile 403 ci. Engine is what the came with the car. Also the decal behind the door windows should be a metal Firebird emblem. I custom ordered one of these in March 1978 with all the performance options available. I paid $6,590 upon delivery.
No belt on A/C compressor? I had (2) of these. Both 400 CID, 4 speed manual. Great cars for the time. Thanks
