This 1971 Volkswagen Super Beetle convertible has been with the seller for 10 years and is powered by a previously rebuilt 1.6-liter flat-4 paired with a 4-speed manual transaxle. Recent maintenance includes replacement of the carburetor and fuel pump, and the car has new floor pans, carpet, and floor mats. This Super Beetle is offered with spare heater cables and a clear Tennessee title in the seller’s name.
The body is finished in yellow with a black top, with both showing age-related wear. Front and rear bumpers are chrome, and dual exhaust outlets exit at the rear.
Factory 15” painted steel wheels with polished center caps are wrapped in tires of unknown age. A coil front suspension provides stability, and braking is managed by drums both front and rear.
The interior is trimmed in black with cloth buckets and matching door panels, and new floor pans, carpet, and floor mats have been added. The seller indicates that the heater is not currently working, and an extra set of heater cables is included with the sale.
Instrumentation is framed by a 2-spoke steering wheel with a chrome horn ring and consists of a 90-mph speedometer and a 5-digit odometer. True mileage on the vehicle is unknown.
The 1.6-liter air-cooled flat-4 is reported to be original to the vehicle and was rebuilt under prior ownership. Recent maintenance has included the replacement of the carburetor and the electric fuel pump. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transaxle with a floor-mounted shift lever.
Undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.
The sale includes a spare set of replacement heater cables.

@IamLostRU – I am surprised at both the tepid bidding and some of the questions. This is an absolutely lovely. snazzy, vintage Super Beetle. Vintage cars do make practical regular drivers, which generally takes it out of for youths. (Although this is a perfect investment). Even when new a now vintage needed more attention than works well today. Although a bug or derivative is always one of the easier. But consider no a/c, limited hot air heat, but will have an infrequently working cigarette lighter and ash trays! ...
