No, there was not a new speedometer cable installed. There was a new speedometer gear installed. After replacing the gear this speedometer was still jumpy, and the classic car mechanic told us that the speedometer cable was bad. He said it was due to the old lubricant inside of the cable hardening. So he just left It disconnected. Thanks for your comment!
