This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is a 36k-mile original survivor with a matching-numbers drivetrain and is one of 930 convertibles produced for the year. Power is provided by an L82 350ci V8, and it is paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The car's original owner was reportedly a Chevrolet mechanic in Ohio, and it has since been relocated to New York and then to Pennsylvania, where it currently resides. Finished in white over a burgundy vinyl interior, this C3 is now offered with a clear Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The body is reported to wear its original white finish with a new white cloth top, and the seller notes some minor paint checking. Exterior features include C3 pop-up headlamps, vented front fenders, quad taillamps at the rear, and a factory-optioned chrome luggage rack. A true dual exhaust without a catalytic converter is fitted at the rear.
Factory 15” steel Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings are wrapped in new General raised-white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering and manual brakes, and the seller states that the brake calipers, master cylinder, proportioning valve, and brake fluid have been changed.
The interior is trimmed in its original burgundy vinyl with matching door panels, dash, and carpet, all of which the seller reports are in excellent condition. Interior features include factory air conditioning, power windows, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a push-button AM/FM radio, and new weather stripping.
Instrumentation is framed by a 3-spoke steering wheel and consists of a 160-mph speedometer, 7k tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The working analog clock is set in the center stack. The 5-digit odometer reads approximately 36k miles which the seller asserts is true and accurate.
The matching-numbers L82 350ci 4-bolt main V8 was factory-rated at 250 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new. It has a forged crankshaft, forged rods, and forged pistons with a 9:1 compression rate, as well as screw-in studs and pushrod guides. The seller recently changed the oil and filter. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via an M40 3-speed automatic transmission with a console-mounted shift lever.
The original MSRP including options was $7,178 per the seller. A current Pennsylvania state inspection will go with the car.
