This 1988 Ford Mustang LX hatchback was acquired two years ago from the seller's father-in-law, who purchased it new in 1988. Power is provided by a 302ci V8 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, and retains its original AM/FM cassette deck, bucket seats, electric mirrors, power brakes, and power steering. This Fox body Mustang shows approximately 120k miles and is offered with a clean CARFAX report and a clear Minnesota title in the seller's name.
The body is finished in black with red pinstripes and chrome badges, and is reported to show well with the exception of a small, quarter-sized spot of rust on the rear hatch. Exterior lighting is functional per the seller.
Factory 15" alloy wheels are wrapped in Goodyear tires that are reported to be in good condition and holding air well. Handling is managed by power steering and power brakes with discs up front and drums in the rear.
The interior is trimmed in the factory Scarlet Red cloth with black and red vinyl trim panels and red carpet. Per the seller, the car has been stored inside, and the upholstery is reported to show no evidence of fading. Amenities include the stock AM/FM cassette deck, power locks and mirrors, and cruise control. Items are said to remain function with the exception of the passenger door lock, which does not engage. A spare tire, jack, and equipment are located in the trunk.
Instrumentation consists of an 85-mph speedometer, a 6k tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel. A total of 19,679 miles are shown, but the five-digit odometer is reported to have rolled over. The seller notes that the temperature gauge is not working.
The 5.0-liter V8 features electronic fuel injection, was rated at 225 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque when new, and is paired with a BorgWarner T-50 5-speed manual gearbox. Per the seller, his stepson inspected the car and replaced all necessary belts and hoses, and the engine is reported to start and run without issue.

The CARFAX report documents Minnesota registration from new. The last documented odometer reading was 64,000 miles in 1995.
