Vehicle Story

This 1972 GMC Jimmy is a fully-restored 4x4 with a rebuilt drivetrain, refurbished suspension, new or refinished trim, a removable hardtop, and factory air conditioning. It is powered by a rebuilt 350ci V8 paired with a rebuilt 3-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. Finished in blue metallic over a gray vinyl interior, this Jimmy is now offered with a clear Indiana title in the seller’s name.

The body was resprayed in blue metallic as part of a professional body-off restoration completed in 2018, which also saw the restoration of the hood and grille. The bumpers are reported to be original, and a gray factory removable hardtop will go with the truck. The body and paint are in excellent condition per the seller.

Factory 15” steel Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings are wrapped in 33” BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires that were replaced 3k miles ago per the seller. Handling is carried out via power steering, power brakes, and manually-locking front hubs.

The interior is fitted with gray vinyl bucket seats and matching door panels, with a center armrest that contains storage compartments and dual cup holders. The dash is color-matched in blue and houses a vintage-style stereo with Bluetooth connectivity, and there is a color-matched tubular roll bar behind the front seats. Amenities include factory air conditioning and a tilt steering wheel. The seller indicates that the dome light in the removable hardtop does not function.

Instrumentation is framed by a 2-spoke steering wheel and consists of a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 92k miles, which the seller asserts are original, but true mileage is unknown.

The 350ci V8 was rebuilt 3k miles ago, as was the 3-speed automatic transmission. The 2-speed transfer case is operated via a floor-mounted shift lever.

The suspension was refurbished at the time of restoration according to the seller and includes a new steering stabilizer and bushings. Additional undercarriage photos can be found in the gallery.

The sale includes the vehicle’s gray removable hardtop and a lift system to facilitate removal.
