1979 Chevrolet K20 Suburban

This 1979 Chevrolet K20 Suburban 4x4 Scottsdale was purchased from the original owner's estate and is outfitted with factory Trailering Special equipment, which included a weight-distribution rear tow hitch, an engine oil cooler, a heavy-duty power braking system, a 40-gallon fuel tank, trailer wiring, and a heavy-duty transmission oil cooler. It is powered by a replacement crate GM V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and was originally delivered to Pulliam Motors, Inc. in Columbia, South Carolina. Finished in Frost White with new woodgrain side paneling, this K20 Suburban is now offered with original invoice paperwork, receipts, a build sheet, and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.

This K20 is finished in its original paint scheme of Frost White with a newly-applied woodgrain wrap. The seller reports that the truck was acquired from the original owner and is a rust-free example. The SPID in the glove compartment provides an itemized inventory of the vehicle’s original equipment, which included a chrome grille, chrome front, and rear bumpers, and bodyside moldings. As part of this Suburban’s tow-ready configuration, it is equipped with large side-view mirrors and a receiver hitch.

Factory color-matched steel wheels with chromed bowtie center caps are wrapped in new Super Traxion vintage tires. As part of the Trailering Special, the vehicle came equipped with heavy-duty power brakes and axles, a weight-distribution hitch, and trailer wiring.

The Scottsdale trim consists of the original blue cloth upholstery and matching vinyl door panels, dash pad, and flooring. Amenities include front and rear air conditioning, woodgrain trim with Scottsdale badging, a locking glove compartment, and a "Comfortilt" steering wheel. The cargo compartment contains a full-sized spare tire aft of the third-row seat.

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer, 5k tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 28k miles, with actual mileage reported to be 128k.

The crate GM Goodwrench V8 is a replacement engine that is reported to in excellent running condition and up to date on maintenance. Power is transferred to all 4 wheels via a heavy-duty 3-speed automatic transmission with a positraction rear end.
