Vehicle Story

This 1939 Ford Deluxe Coupe is a five-window hot-rod that is the product of a custom build with a Pontiac 400ci V8, Mustang II steering rack, wrap-around rear seat from a Thunderbird, VDO gauges, and a modern stereo system. The engine is mated to a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, the black exterior features airbrushed flames on the front end, and the interior is trimmed in red upholstery. This 1939 Ford five-window Deluxe Coupe is offered on a clear Texas title in the seller's name.

This Ford Deluxe Coupe has an all-steel body and was professionally painted in black with gradient airbrushed flames on the nose as part of a full restoration. It features chrome brightwork for the bumpers, grille, headlight surrounds, and mirrors, along with full-length stainless steel side trim. There are running boards installed on either side, and dual polished exhaust outlets exit beneath the rear bumper.

Chrome Cragar wheels in a staggered configuration are wrapped in proportionally-sized tires. This coupe is equipped with power brakes and power steering, with the latter system having been grafted from a Ford Mustang II.

The interior is fitted with a red vinyl bench up front with a custom Ford Thunderbird wrap-around seat in the back, along with matching door panels and carpeting. The metal dash is painted black to match the exterior, and amenities include air conditioning, a tilt steering column, and a modern AM/FM/CD stereo system. The trunk is upholstered in materials which match the cabin.

A Heritage gauge kit from VDO is installed with a 120-mph speedometer surrounded by smaller dials for voltage, fuel, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer displays less than 8,000 miles, but total chassis mileage is unknown.

The 400ci Pontiac small-journal V8 was sourced as part of the build and features metallic blue paint and a chrome air cleaner atop a four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake manifold. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

@Polkadancer – Can it be driven to az please let me no. Iam looking for a real nice driver ...

For car shows, I have driven it to Dallas and back several times. We have done "road trips" with our car club; however, there was always a (chase car) following in the event someone has car trouble. ......I have never had a problem!. Personally, I would not drive it to Arizona. It would probably do fine; however, that's too far to take any chances. If it were me, I would rent a round trip U-Haul car carrier and come get it.
