NO RESERVE: This 1960 MG MGA Roadster is finished in Iris Blue over a black vinyl interior. Powered by a 1620cc engine that powers the rear wheels through a 5-speed Ford T9 transmission, the original 4-speed was replaced prior to the owners acquisition. Having undergone an engine rebuild by The Motorway of Longmont, Colorado, an oil cooler was added that sits ahead of the radiator assembly. The owner is unsure of the originality of the 16k miles displayed on the odometer, having added 600 of them in 2 years of ownership. Now offered with records dating back to 2008, this MG comes with a clear Arizona title in the sellers name.
Showcasing Iris Blue paintwork, the seller notes this is the original color and a repaint having been performed prior to ownership. While the factory windshield is currently installed, the car does come with a racing windshield with matching fender-mount mirrors. The front and rear bumper overrides have been removed to smooth the appearance of the car.
Chrome knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in Arizona radial tires measuring 165-R15.
The interior is finished in black vinyl seats that are said to be original to the car paired with black door panels and carpet. A floor-mounted manual transmission lever is also shown. Additional equipment includes lap belts and a heater with windshield defroster.
Showcased behind the three spoke factory steering wheel are two gauges, including a speedometer and tachometer. The five-digit analog odometer shows just above 16k miles, seller states actual mileage unknown. The seller also notes the speedometer needle bounces above 50-mph.
Under the hood is the 1620cc inline-four engine which was rebuilt by The Motorway in Longmont, Colorado in 2008. In 2018, a radiator repair was performed, along with the refreshment of the dual SU carburetors and the replacement of the starter. In addition, the thermostat, battery and spark plugs were replaced.
The Ford 5-speed T9 transmission sends power to the rear wheels. The seller notes the original muffler has been replaced with an aftermarket version. Additional undercarriage photos are displayed in the gallery.
The car comes with a racing windshield and mirrors, along with records dating back to 2008 and an MG workshop manual.
