This 1974 Volkswagen Beetle Cabriolet is finished in red over a black and red custom interior. Powered by a recently rebuilt 1600cc dual port engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission, the VW shows 51K miles on the odometer, 400 of which were added by the seller. Recent upgrades include electronic ignition, new battery, tires and brakes. This Beetle is offered with a clean California title in the sellers name.
Finished in red, the seller states the car was repainted 5 years and is said to have been repainted its original factory color. The seller does note a rust spot on the lower driver side door, which is pictured in the gallery below. Other notable exterior features include chrome front and rear bumpers, sideview mirrors, and factory running boards. The car also sports a new German Hartz cloth top.
15” Porsche 914 alloy wheels are fitted to newly installed Nankang low noise tires measuring 165/80-15 on all four corners. New wheel bearings and brakes have also recently been installed. A spare tire is included with in the sale of the car.
The custom interior features black vinyl seats with red cloth inserts and red piping. The front bucket seats also feature integrated headrests. Seatbelts are noted only for front passengers. An aftermarket stereo head unit was added, powering aftermarket Pioneer Premier speakers in both doors. A SCAT shifter and black vinyl shift boot are also pictured for the close-ratio manual transmission.
Situated behind the factory steering wheel sits a single speedometer that measures speed up to 100 mph. An analogue odometer reads 51,457 miles, believed to be original mileage according to the seller.
An air-cooled 1600cc dual port engine sits at the rear of the car equipped with a Billit dress-up kit. Rated for 58 horsepower when new, the recently rebuilt engine also features dual Weber carburetors for improved performance.
