Vehicle Story

This 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 is a restored fifth-generation two-door hardtop with modern gauges, replacement wiring, and an upgraded Alpine audio system. Power comes from 289ci V8 with a Holley carburetor, which sends power to the rear wheels through a C6 3-speed automatic transmission. The car has been owned and maintained by the same family for about six years. Finished in Wimbledon White with blue accent stripes over a blue cloth interior with split-bench seating, this Fairlane is offered with a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.

This Fairlane features a 2-door-hardtop roofline and was professionally resprayed in Wimbledon White (M) with blue racing stripes under prior ownership. It features chrome bumpers, window trim, and emblems, in addition to signature quad headlamps and dual sideview mirrors. The body is reported to be rust-free and in good overall condition.

Factory 14” chromed factory wheels with spinner caps are wrapped in Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires on all four corners. The front braking system has been upgraded per the seller.

The interior is fitted with blue cloth bench seats that were professionally reupholstered under prior ownership, which are complemented by matching lap belts, vinyl door panels with wood accents, carpeting, and a dash pad. The stereo system is a modern Alpine AM/FM/CD head unit with Sirius XM connectivity and USB inputs. Interior badging includes Fairlane 500 aluminum plates on each door and a GTA logo affixed to the dash itself.

Instrumentation is viewed through an aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel and is comprised of a series of newer round gauges including a 140-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The replacement digital odometer reads 1,300 miles and true mileage chassis mileage is unknown.

The 289ci V8 is equipped with a four-barrel Holley carburetor and new wiring and is mated to a C6 3-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that the car was maintained regularly by the prior owner, but describes an oil leak.

The transmission should be a C4 with an aftermarket floor shift.
