This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette has been with the seller since 1990, who describes a frame-off restoration in the 1980s and more recent work in the form of a respray, refurbished trunk compartment, replaced soft top, restored hardtop, and other maintenance performed within the last five years. Power comes from a numbers-matching high-output 270-horsepower 283ci V8 which makes this Corvette one of 978 produced for its year, and the drivetrain consists of a 4-speed manual transmission while other equipment includes an 8,000-rpm tachometer and a signal-seeking Delco Wonderbar radio. Finished in Snowcrest White with contrasting Inca Silver coves over a Blue-Grey interior, this 1958 Chevrolet Corvette is offered on a clear Arkansas title in the seller's name.
Two-tone exterior paint was represented by option code 440 and this C1-generation Corvette is one of 499 build for 1958 finished in the combination of Snowcrest White (936/510A) with Inca Silver (724). The white soft top is described as new and a color-matched hardtop is stored on a rolling stand. The faux-louvered hood was exclusive to the 1958 model year and tailpipes for the exhaust dump through the rear bumper. The seller describes a restoration carried out in the 1980s, and a score of 97 by the National Corvette Restorers Society post-completion.
Tires are a set of Firestone Deluxe Champion whitewalls which originally corresponded to option code 290 at a cost of $31.55 in 1958. They are mounted on a set of wheels wearing original covers complete with faux knock-off spinners.
The interior contains Blue-Grey upholstery, carpeting, and floor coverings, and the color is continued on the instrument panel and dash. An optional (102) signal-seeking Delco Wonderbar radio is fitted above the climate controls and clock and forward of the shifter.
An 8,000-rpm tachometer centered in front of the driver and backed by a 160-mph speedometer was standard on cars equipped with 270- and 290-horsepower horsepower engines and is flanked by gauges for coolant temperature, battery voltage, fuel level, and oil pressure.
This Corvette is one of 978 produced for the 1958 model year with the 270-horsepower 283ci small-block Chevrolet V8 which is fueled by a pair of Carter four-barrel carburetors. Selection of a high-output engine necessitated either a 3-speed or 4-speed manual transmission, the latter of which is equipped here. Within the last five years, the engine received new valve stem seals while other maintenance included fitment of flexible brake lines and replacement of the wheel cylinders.
Photos of the underside show rebound straps around the rear axle which have been replaced, while a new crossmember is also mentioned.
Startup and walk-around videos can be viewed below. This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette was produced in February of 1958, comes with its owner's manual and hardtop, and is offered on a clear Arkansas title in the seller's name.

@JML75901 – Is the mileage shown on the odometer correct? 8,000 original miles? ...
When it was restored in the 80s the likelihood is the odometer started over. When we got the car it had around 7,000 MI. The rest we have put on. We can speculate that it was 89 00 mi since the restoration but I can't say that with certainty. I can only speak for the miles that we have put on it.
